Leighton Fun Runners meet every week on a Tuesday & Thursday Evening at The Cricket Clubhouse, Bell Close, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 1RX.  On a Tuesday night we run various distances in groups around the town and the local area.  On a Thursday night we hold a speed and stamina training session.

Hello you crazy runners,

The big news this week has to be the fact that 56 members joined the club on Monday for the latest C25K. Yes that's right 56, astonishing turnout for the summer programme. Don't miss your opportunity to be involved in this great programme (newbies are always very excitable and enthusiastic. It’s very contagious, nip along and get involved in the excitement).

The annual club summer BBQ was very mellow, there was a lot of lounging around in the sun drinking and talking rubbish (perfect Sunday), in a departure from last year the kiddies treasure hunt went ahead as planned (after the chairman failed to buy the prizes last year).

Runs this week:

Runner of the Month:

For single minded determination and focus and achieving their first of many running goals please put your hands together and go bonkers for the wonderfully wacky Jude Wilson.
Please remember we actively welcome nominations from club members.

Other News:

The XC events have now been announced, full details on the club web page. Please register on the link provided. So check your diaries, cancel what is already there and replace it with the XC event. As in previous years the club will cover the costs for these events so you don't even have to part with any money. For anyone who hasn’t done this before before, it is the best, the very very best, exciting like your first day at big school AND you get tea/coffee/cake in a big warn hall. Forget lunch with mates and family, this is MUCH BETTER.

Our XC league has adopted a new logo designed and artfully crafted by our very own Awesomely bonkers Anthony Smith (AKA Banksy).

Don't forget the next championship event is the extrodinary well named Tough 10 hosted by our sister club LBAC. If you haven’t entered you should be able to on the day. Don’t forget you are representing the club so colours are mandatory.

Entries for the Club Weary Sole fun relay are looking a bit sparce, come on guys, let's get active and get focussed, it's a bit of fun while we check the route so we can launch this as a race next year. If you fancy giving it a go drop me a line and I'll create some teams.

First Aid: I am still looking to get a list of all first aiders within the club, if you have been trained and you are happy to help the club then please let me know and let me know whe your training is due for renewal.

Happy Running.
