Hello you crazy runners,
I trust you all have a smashing time over the Easter hols and had lots of choccy eggs...!!
Sunday saw the Leighton Fun Runner’s 3rd Leighton 20 (and 13 mile) Training Run. 21 runners took part joining us from LFR, Amphill and Flitwick Flyers, Redway Runners and a few non-club members. An accumulative donation of £100 was raised for the clubs charity "Hearing for Dogs".
Well done to everyone who ran and thank you very much too all the volunteers who helped put on a successful event.
A bevy of club members enjoyed the Bank Holiday Monday running around Ashridge, followed by some delicious hot chocolate (and a burger for some...yum yum), thank for organising Karen Kirwan.
...to Glyn Raymen for completing his 7th Compton 40 run and to Jim Buttleman for taking part in the Compton 20 on Sunday.
...to the LFR ladies who attended the annual Chick Chase Race up at Caldcotte Lake on Wednesday. A big whoop whoop to Grace Gillen, Lindsey Rigby and Debbie Roff each for achieving a PB and a massive well done to Laura Thompson for coming 2nd overall.
The winner of the lastminute.com.MK marathon/half marathon entry ballot place is...COLIN AITKEN. Colin I shall be in touch...
If you are looking for something to do on the Bank Holiday 4th May, how about helping out at the MK Marathon and being a part of the Event Crew. You'll get a T-Shirt, medal, lunch and invite to a party on 9th May with a live band. Join the Event Crew here: http://mkmarathon.com/eventcrew/
And last but not least, a huge congratulations to all of the Couch 2 5K’ers who graduated on Tuesday. Plus, a massive thank you to everyone who came down and helped on a Monday to encourage and cajole and congratulate all the beginners; it doesn’t work without your support...☺
Other important stuff...
ROTM nominations: The committee shall be meeting on Wednesday so if you have a nomination for Runner of the Month please email email@example.com by 5pm on Tue 14th with your nominee(s) and reason(s) why.
EA Glitch: It’s been reported that some of you were experiencing problems entering races over the past week or so. This was due to a admin glitch and has now been resolved.
SAVE THE DATE:
The clubs 2015 AGM will be held on May 8th at Bell Close. Before the meeting there are three topics that you we need club members to think about and email the club secretary.
Consider and nominate Committee members; who should be serving on the committee next year? Is it you? Your mate? Or someone else who will be perfect for the club. Could you be the next Chairperson, Captain, Press Officer or Race Director...
Table any agenda items for discussion at the AGM; if you want to discuss an issue/subject
Nominate a charity; Which charity would you like the club to support next year (it MUST be a registered charity) and better if it’s local. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
Members are encouraged to actively take part in the meeting and raise agenda points. No ‘AOB’ will be discussed on the night of the AGM. So get thinking and submit your Committee nomination, agenda items and charity nominations to the Club Secretary by April 24th so that it can be added to the agenda. Email email@example.com
More details on all of the above e.g. nominate a charity criteria, can be found here.
Happy Running all...Remember run safe...☺
