Bedfordshire  Amateur Athletics Association (Beds AAA)

LFR are members of Beds AAA who organise three competitions a year and is great chance to pick up medals

• Road Running Championships
• County Cross Country
• Track & Field Competition

To qualify to take part in the competitions athletes should:

1. Be members of English Athletics
2. Live (or have been born) in Bedfordshire .

Beds AAA select athletes to represent the County at the Regional level (South of England AA)

Road running Championship

A number of races within the county  over the season are selected to form the county championship.  You enter in the normal way for any race and tick a box saying you want it to count towards the County Championship

The following races will form part of the 2023 season.  Please also refer to their website

• 5K – Doug Anderson – 19th July 2023
• 5 Mile – Luton – Cancelled
• 10K – Beds AAA – 7th July 2023
• 10 Mile - Leighton Buzzard 10m - 24th Sept 2023
• Half Marathon – Love Luton -  TBC
• 10 Mile – Sandy – TBC
• 20 Mile – Oakley – 26th March 2023.  Held & results posted

We strongly urge members to take part in the County Championships particularly if looking for competitive races.

Cross Country Championship

This event is combined with the Buckinghamshire AAA competition with each county taking in turns

to host the single day event usually in early January.

We enter as a club for this event, and details on how to enter will be sent out via Facebook or in the newsletter nearer the time

Track & Field

Whilst LFR does not provide training for Track & Field, members are entitled to enter as individuals into the county championships, please refer to the Beds AAA website.
