Andrew Heale

Andrew started running with the LFR Couch to 5K programme six years ago and has never looked back. He’s now completed six marathons as well as being an avid parkrunner particularly at Rushmere. Previously Andrew was club Treasurer for two years and he is also Treasurer for the three Counties Cross Country League. Andrew says his favourite things include running, cake and beer so has found LFR is his ideal club!

James and Sam Booth

Sam and James Booth have been members for 5 and 2 years respectively.
Enjoying an active family lifestyle, LFR has provided an enjoyable social addition which “surprisingly” makes running fun.
They have jointly taken on the Kit Secretary role.

Andrew Stocks

Andy joined LFR in 2018 to improve his fitness and to gain extra motivation to continue running on those dark, cold winter nights. The relaxed, fun approach (with a focus on cake) worked; he now relishes muddy half marathons and participates in various trail events. He’s now completed the MK road marathon and recently the Beachy Head trail marathon.

Andy isn’t the only one in his family with the running bug, his wife is also a member of the club and their daughters have been keen participants in the local Junior Parkrun. As a vice Captain Andy is looking forward to getting to know everyone and helping to organise some runs, especially if they include muddy trails! Andy qualified as a coach in running fitness (CiRF) in 2022.

Luke Harris

I joined LFR in June 2022 after a couple of trial evenings at the club with my mum. My first run with the club as a member was a cake night (best way to start in my opinion) and immediately felt welcome by all the friendly faces. Since then, I’ve never looked back.
Being a member of LFR has helped with my running confidence and the help and advice from other members has been invaluable.
I enjoy helping with run leads and seeing people improve and gain confidence.

Amanda Millard

Amanda joined LFR part of C25k in September 2022. Previously part of another running club but joined LFR after moving to the area. Amanda enjoys running anything from 5k to half marathon but her favourite thing is run leading and seeing others succeed their running goals. Amanda enjoys sharing her passion of social running with new/current members.

Anthony Lombardi

Anthony joined LFR in April 2023 after a few years of running mostly by himself around Eaton Bray and Edlesborough. Running is relatively new to him, he started in 2016 when it became harder to get 10+ people together to play football, so decided to take things into his own hands and just start running. Since then he’s been well and truly bitten by the bug and has run a few marathons and often finds himself day dreaming about an Ultra one day.

As Newsletter Editor Anthony looks after your weekly LFR update and enjoys the light hearted and fun side of running that this club brings to everything it does.

John Kirwan

John or JK as he is known by most, has run with the club for many years although this is his first time on the committee. A prolific marathon runner with 260 marathons / ultras to date including 6 x 100-mile races, John is known for his love of trail running, spending many hours exploring Rushmere and Woburn locally and also running in the Lake District when possible. A regular leader of the club Fartlek sessions and the Friday social runs, he is a qualified Leader in Running Fitness and is currently working towards his Coaching qualification.

Laura Keyte

Laura joined LFR on the Couch to 5k programme in September 2019. She was a non-runner before that and couldn’t run 5 minutes non-stop let alone 5k! With the support of the club, Laura now regularly runs 5k and she’s hoping to get to 10k in the near future. She says the club has given her so much more confidence in her running and life in general, and has given her to opportunity to meet some lovely people.

As Membership Secretary, Laura will be your first port of call if you wish to join our fantastic club and she will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Gavin Prechner

Gavin joined LFR in January 2018 having recently started running on his own, “just to get fit”. Since then, Gavin has well and truly got the running bug and can normally be found at Rushmere parkrun on a Saturday morning (pre COVID), pounding the mean streets of LB or getting thigh deep in mud on the trails.

Gavin has built on his confidence and ability in the last few years and has completed numerous local races, half marathons and 4 marathons. Gavin says that the most bonkers race he’s taken part in is the Continental 24 Hour Thunder Run, ask him about it and I can guarantee you that grass skirts and coconut bras will come into conversation! Gavin regularly leads group runs around the town and can’t wait to get back to doing this again and encouraging others. Gavin loves the friendly and welcoming culture the club has, especially the support and friends he has found regardless of ability. Gavin has a wife and young daughter who are his best supporters and somehow know exactly where to be to dish out jelly babies right on schedule during a long race!

Nic Dimmock

Nic has been running with LFR for many years now and is a keen club run-leader. In addition helps with the maintenance and updating of the clubs IT systems.
