Course Description – one lap of rural roads

Reality of Course Description – Beautiful countryside run through country roads, lanes, fields and woodland – like something out of a Mary Poppins street picture.

Water and Fuel Stations – Cups of water at 3 miles (5 & 8 miles for 10 mile)

Time of year - September

Why I chose this race – This was the same day as Dunstable Challenge, and I was nowhere near ready for a 13.1 mile trail run. This was a club championship race, close to my in-laws so I dragged my sister-in-law around with me.

Organisation – Very well organised, plenty of car parking, race packs sent out in advance. Well marshalled course, no threat of getting lost.

Feedback Summary – Lovely event, race headquarters was a village hall in an idyllic countryside setting. BBQ at the end, plenty of homemade cakes, and tea/coffee/ice-cream available before and after. No spectators on course however plenty to do at the race headquarters, which also doubled up with the finish line (my little boy won something on the tombola/raffle). Great for all the family.

Will I be back - Yes

Tips for next time – Arrive early – the start line is approx. 0.5-1 mile walk/run from the headquarters. Also the start line was quite chaotic, with no announcement/countdown to the race start, we were all talking amongst ourselves when a tiny whistle was blown amidst a chaotic bunch of runners all anxiously fidgeting with their watches/devices.
