Thames Meander Marathon
Runner - Mark McLoughlin
Number of runners - 300
Price – £20
What you have show for it – A nice medal
Route description - Out and back route along the River Thames. Kingston - Kew Bridge.
Reality of course description – Trail river path, mainly flat
Water and Fuel Stations – A total of 6 aid stations
Time of year – Three times a year - March, August and November
Why I chose this race – A good way to see some parts of London and the outskirts.
Organisation – Organised by Hermes Running
Feedback Summary – Well organised but public walking and cycling was a pain. One aid station ran dry. Due to a late start, part of the course flooded from the high tide affecting later finishers.
Will I be back – Yes on 7th November
Tips for next time – Keep water with you.
