Course description: a hard uphill push to get away then you drop down through the Buckinghamshire countryside. Miles 2-4 are a steady climb that you don't really notice but then comes the tough finish. A flat section straight into the wind tested my mental strength and the 9km sign could not come soon enough until you see it come with a rather daunting 100ft climb to the finish!

Water station: every 3km

Time of year: late February

Why you chose it: it is the perfect early season speed and hill challenge

Will I be back: it's a permanent fixture now even though i was that close to seeing my breakfast again!

Top tips for next time: you have to go flat out from the start and just try to keep it going on the last climb.
